“Use Pictures To Search The Web”
The concept is pretty cool.
Instead of traditional search, or voice search, you can now use “picture” search by taking a picture of a place or a thing and Google will bring up results based on the picture.
In all honesty, I am not sure how awesome this product actually is…but where is the excitement?!? I haven’t really heard anything about Google Goggles. Maybe I’ve just been busy lately?

I think this has solid possibilities (especially in my space: real estate). Driving down the road pointing phone at house, pulling up listings with stats, school info, nearby venues, et al. I would use it if I had a droid. Haven’t heard if it will come out for iphone yet, then the groundswell starts.
I know of some companies racing to get out an augmented reality real estate app but they all suck and in the end Google just does it better.

Where is the excitement? the Google Fanboy community was raving about it last week (me included in that group). I was uber impressed with the fact that I took a picture of my Windows Vista background picture and I got results for Windows Vista. It’s still in its early stages, but the results so far are pretty awesome. I also like the augmented reality part of it when looking for locations. That works excellently already.

Dez,
I must have missed all of the hype somehow. I really like @jasonsandquist’s point about the implications it would have for real estate folk.
