Time and time again, I’ve heard people express how they wish they could change or do something. They wish that they could go on an extended vacation. They wish that they could get a job doing something they love. They wish that they could lose those last 5 pounds. And for most people, that’s where it all comes to a complete stop. The wishes remain wishes and the dreams remain dreams.
This is my challenge to all wishers: I challenge you to take one teeny, tiny step forward in making your wish come true. If your wish is to go on a month long trip to Bali, I challenge you to start looking at pictures of all of the beautiful people and beaches you will encounter or to start reading about the culture. Simple enough, right?
After you take that first simple step, I challenge you to take another. It might happen next week, maybe it happens in a month, or if you’re really psyched, it happens in an hour. Regardless of when it happens, I challenge you to take another step forward and start browsing flights or figuring out what you’re going to say to your employer when you tell them that you plan to take a month off.
You’ll soon find that any dream can become a reality, as long as you begin taking steps forward.
The next time you find yourself wishing for something, I challenge you to make that wish come true by taking a simple step.
